Motiv Entertainment is essentially me, I'm Vito, an experienced private event and club DJ based in Ĺtautahi Christchurch, New Zealand.
I created Motiv Entertainment because I recognised that the celebrations we are hired for, are often really personal events. This is especially true for weddings and birthdays, but even formals and corporate events can be quite personal. DJ's have a real privilege to be able to witness your event - and so the way we provide our services should reflect an approach that helps you steer the direction, but be able to relax and let your hair down on the night.
Whether your event is a wedding, corporate event, or private party, we'll curate with you, the perfect playlist for your event by getting to know you and your guests - and "mixing in" real DJ skills that have been honed across numerous nightclubs, bars and events across Aotearoa / New Zealand and Australia.
About me
Being a DJ is the longest "job" I have ever had, if you can call it a job. I was 16 years old when I was first introduced to DJing at High School and I loved it so much, that I ended up working in radio. So what started out as a hobby at High School in Lower Hutt turned into a career of passion surrounded by music and people.
Mostly DJing nightclubs and bars originally, I discovered when hosting an event, that there was a lack of professionalism in the New Zealand mobile DJ industry - some DJs operating with no contracts, others booking events and then cancelling on the day because they've double booked or found a better paying gig.
So, I created Motiv Entertainment to help people find an alternative option without forsaking the DJ skills side of it.
This does take more time, but I've found it makes everyone much happier. Because of this I only take a handful of weddings directly every year (you can hire me through a couple of other agencies too but they do all the admin work) - this is to ensure that I don't over-commit myself, and you get my very best.
More than Music
Ensuring you get the vibe you want and deserve is a lot more than just playing music - that plays a big part but how the music is played is just as important.
I try to avoid being classified as just a "wedding DJ" - I'm a Club DJ who plays Weddings as well. I've brought a bunch of club skills into the mobile DJ market and found they work just as well for private parties and functions too.
I've also put a lot of thought and effort into not just how it all sounds, but how everything looks as well - and we've created a number of pretty unique appearance options that wont look out of place with the most elegant of events - and if you need me to, I'll rock a suit and tie as well.
