Motiv Entertainment is built on experience and strong local relationships.
As a very small team of Christchurch DJs, we know the venues, the typical flow of a wedding day here, and a lot of the other people (vendors) who help bring it all together. We regularly work alongside photographers, celebrants, planners, and musicians, including some great local sax players, to make sure everything runs smoothly and feels easy for you.
As a local team, we're here to help you get the best possible experience and give you great support to have the celebration and dance-floor you deserve. You get to meet and work with your DJ from the start, and you’re choosing people who genuinely care about creating a great night.
I’m Vito, the main person behind Motiv Entertainment and the one that has somehow gained a good reputation as a DJ - simply because I care about people and I care about doing a great job. If I’m not available on your date, I have a small group of Christchurch DJs I trust who share the same approach and standards. That means more people can be looked after, without losing the personal feel.
Between us, we’ve DJ’d weddings, private events, corporate functions, and some of Canterbury’s best-known nightclubs. We each bring our own style, but the focus is always the same - reading the room, bringing the right energy, and creating an epic dance-floor.
No matter who you book, you can expect a thoughtful, professional experience and a celebration that feels easy from start to finish.

Vito (lead DJ & MC)
Music has always been part of Vito’s life. He learned instruments including guitar, drums, keyboard and trumpet before becoming a DJ and radio announcer. A well-known Christchurch DJ, he has performed at venues across New Zealand and Australia including Richey’s, Cotton Club, Baretta, Delilah and Amazonita. Today he focuses on weddings and events, bringing experience, energy and a relaxed professional style that keeps dance floors full. Vito is now one of the most recommended wedding DJs in Canterbury, trusted by couples to deliver incredible celebrations.
Availability: I personally do no more than 6 weddings per month, and 1 weekend in every month must be kept free. I do this so I have time with my family but also so I can continue to deliver a really high level of customer service without being burned out. If you are getting married on a Friday or Saturday, my recommendation is to make contact ASAP if you want me specifically - otherwise, our other DJs are a great choice and you still get me as a support person leading up to your wedding day.

Nancy - DJ / KJ (Karaoke)Nancy comes from a strong musical background and has years of experience in the entertainment scene. Her time as a singer gives her a natural feel for music and for connecting with a crowd. She loves getting to know her couples and their music tastes. Her bubbly personality brings warmth, energy and positivity to every event. Recently Nancy performed at Canterbury’s largest silent disco, entertaining more than a thousand people and leading a huge Whitney Houston singalong.
Dwight - DJ / VJ (Video)If you’ve danced in Christchurch, you may have danced to Dwight. A well-known DJ in the local scene, he has played venues including The Chancery, Palladium and Casa Publica, and still performs at clubs and bars on The Terrace such as Little Fiddle and Zodiac. With years of experience at weddings, parties and corporate events, Dwight knows how to read a room and keep people dancing. As part of the Motiv Entertainment team, he brings energy, experience and optional video DJ sets for celebrations that want something extra.
