I'm Vito, the founder of Motiv Entertainment. I DJ weddings, private celebrations and events across Christchurch and Canterbury, supported by a small group of DJs I know and trust.

We'll match you with someone who suits what you're planning, while taking your preferences and availability into account. You'll know who your DJ is from the outset and can talk with them at any point as we plan together.

Every DJ brings their own personality and musical background, but you'll get the same thoughtful planning, access to our music app and support from me throughout.

Music has always been part of my life. I learned guitar, drums, keyboard and trumpet before becoming a DJ and radio announcer. I still DJ in Christchurch clubs, including Amazonita, which keeps my mixing sharp alongside weddings and events.

I personally take no more than six weddings each month and keep one weekend free. If you'd like to book me, get in touch early. If I'm not available, I'll help match you with one of the experienced DJs I know and trust, and I'll still support you through the planning.

Nancy comes from a strong musical background and has years of experience in the entertainment scene. Her time as a singer gives her a natural feel for music and for connecting with a crowd. She loves getting to know her couples and their music tastes, and her bubbly personality brings warmth, energy and positivity to every event. Recently Nancy performed at Canterbury's largest silent disco, entertaining more than a thousand people and leading a huge Whitney Houston singalong.

If you've danced in Christchurch, you may have danced to Dwight. A well-known DJ in the local scene, he has played venues including The Chancery, Palladium and Casa Publica, and still performs at clubs and bars on The Terrace such as Little Fiddle and Zodiac. With years of experience at weddings, parties and corporate events, Dwight knows how to read a room and keep people dancing. As part of the Motiv Entertainment team, he brings energy, experience and optional video DJ sets for celebrations that want something extra.

Originally from London, Steve has been a professional DJ for 25 years, with residencies in a string of high-end London venues before moving to Christchurch. He plays wide - classics, disco, retro and the latest top 40 - but it was his love of original house and Balearic beats that earned him the name Ibiza Steve. Alongside weddings, corporate functions and private parties, he holds a weekly Friday residency at The Little Fiddle playing retro and classic tracks in video format, and can also be found at bars including Amazonita and Chiwahwah. Zane has been a professional DJ for close to 20 years, starting out in Christchurch’s club and bar scene in the early 2000s and moving into private events and weddings. He’s Christchurch-based but regularly travels through wider Canterbury, Nelson and Marlborough. Weddings are his main focus, with a charismatic, easygoing style and an eye for detail, and he can double as your MC on the day - one person looking after the music and the running order, which keeps everything joined up.

John’s lifetime with music started with mix tapes and vinyl, and turned into a career: he began as a contract DJ and went on to build and run DJ Grooves, a DJ agency he has led since 1997, covering weddings, corporate functions, school balls and private parties. Now based in Canterbury, he brings that crate-digging ear and decades of event experience to Motiv Entertainment celebrations - music that fits the room, and the calm of someone who has run thousands of events.

Growing up as a DJ's son, Thomas has been surrounded by music and DJing culture since the day he was born. He had his hands on turntables before his first birthday, and that early exposure shaped a broad, eclectic taste in music that'd surprise most adults, let alone a 12-year-old.

These days Thomas is learning guitar and drums, and he's the lead singer in his school band. At just 12, he's the perfect fit for primary school discos, youth dances, and birthday parties for pre-teens and early teens. He's already got a number of public events under his belt, and every one of them comes with the backing of his dad to make sure everything runs smoothly and professionally.
